Sustainability, CSR and the social and solidarity economy

Green finance, social responsibility, the low-carbon transition and the social and solidarity economy: how to reconcile economic performance, inclusion and sustainability in Morocco.

This axis examines how organisations can contribute to more sustainable and more inclusive development. It covers the social responsibility of companies and public organisations, green finance and responsible investment, the energy transition, and the players of the social and solidarity economy and of inclusion.

Research questions

  • How do Moroccan banks and companies build green governance, and where is the line between real commitment and greenwashing?
  • What role can the voluntary carbon market and renewable energy play in Morocco's low-carbon transition?
  • Do ESG ratings and impact investing change investment decisions?
  • How do cooperatives and microfinance institutions reconcile their social mission with economic viability?
  • Which conditions favour women's economic participation and youth employment, as levers of inclusive growth?
